After School Sewing Course
Six weeks in the studio, two hours a week. Students learn to sew, design and construct, and finish the session with a garment they made themselves.

What they learn
01
Machine and hand Basics
Threading, tension, straight and curved seams, and the hand stitches worth knowing.

Reading a pattern
Measuring, laying out, cutting on grain, and marking before the first stitch.
03
Designing their own
Sketching an idea, choosing fabric for it, and adjusting when the fabric disagrees.
04
Finishing Properly
Hems, closures and pressing the difference between homemade and made.
From their very first stitch to more advanced fashion and sewing projects, every student is encouraged to create, experiment, make mistakes, try again, and be proud of what they make.
